How Punjab vehicle records work

Punjab holds the largest vehicle registry in Pakistan, served by the MTMIS system run by the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department. Its online lookup asks for the chassis number as well as the registration number, and requires a captcha, so a plate on its own is not enough to search it, for anyone, not just for us.
